Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana is a scholarship program funded by the department of science and technology of the Governmen of India, which encourage students to take up research careers in the areas of basic science, engineering and medicine fields. Scholarship and contingency grants upto the pre-Ph.D. level are also offred by Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana(KVPY) to selected students.

The advertisement for the KVPY Fellowship appears in all the national dailies normally on the Technology Day which is May 11 and the Second Sunday of July, every year. In November, the Aptitude test is usually conducted every year and the interviews are conducted in the month of January and February. Answer Keys of the exam are published on the KVPY official website within 1012 days of the Aptitude Test. In the year 2015-16, Aptitude Test was conducted on 1 November 2015 and the answer keys were published on 6 November 2015. In 2016, the exam were conducted on November 6.
