In 2010, Renault unveiled one of the most attractive prototypes in recent years and serve as a design guideline for its models in the future: the DeZir, if you like the Clio, Mgane and Captur, you know who to thank. Well, at the Paris Motor Show, the French write the second chapter of this story with the Trezor Concept.
It is a prototype two – seater GT body, autonomous driving and electric motor, created from the idea that a car should be as emotional as easy to use. It is the way in which Renault shouts to the world that from 2020, its philosophy “hands off / eyes out” will be available, including popular models at an affordable price.
The design is the main reason why people buy cars from Renault, according to Renault
If something interests the French, it is to make visually appealing cars. According to Renault itself, the main reason that drives customers to buy some of their models is, since 2014, the maturity of its design. Seeing the Trezor Concept, we can understand the importance of using the prototype supercar as a reference to create the rest of the range.
The Renault Trezor measures 4.7 meters long and its proportions are those of a true GT, with a huge, muscular hood and a rear window that begins to fall pretty much, where the windshield ends. If you look closely, you will see that the rear is finished with small hexagons that, according to Renault, inject temperament and technological appearance to Trezor. On the hood, there are also some hexagons, which rise and give the feeling that the car is breathing.
As you can tell, you have no doors. To enter, which race car, the part that goes from the hood to what could be the C stands posts, including windshield and windows. As if that were not impressive enough, the lighting of the pilots is through fiber optic integrating a red laser.
Two titles in Formula E support the electric heart of Renault Trezor
To move, the Renault Trezor uses an electric motor that sends 350 hp and 380 direct Nm to the rear wheels. It is powered by a pair of batteries, each with its own cooling system, optimized by an air intake variable geometry, installed in the hood. With the throttle, the prototype is catapulted from 0 to 100 km / h in less than four seconds.

When we talk about electric sports, Renault knows what it does. He has won twice the title of teams of Formula E, so much of the technology Trezor has its origins in a race such as energy recovery through braking by the system Rechargeable Energy Storage System (RESS).
Naturally, aerodynamics and weight distribution is a key factor. The Renault Trezor adopts an architecture in which the central cell, the monocoque and the access gate are made of carbon fiber, while the frames of tubular steel chassis. Thus, despite implying bear its batteries, the Trezor weighs only 1,600 kg.
An interior science fiction movie
To exalt the value of passion for Renault, inside the Trezor is red and uses premium materials such as wood French firm KEIM-cycle and fine leathers. All screens you find on the prototype have ultra high definition, using technology OLED and are made of Corning Gorilla Glass.
Starting from the initial idea that a car should be as emotional as easy to use, Renault has installed the Multi-Sense system , in which the car can choose between three driving modes: neutral , for everyday use; sport , to maximize the capabilities of the electric motor; and autonomous, which reflects the brand vision about the safety and pleasure of travel.
