26 Aug 6 Different Types of Bras
You might not know it, but not every bra is suitable for every occasion. In fact, as many as 64% of women wear the wrong bra. That’s likely the reason that you can’t wait to get home and take your bra off at the end of the night. Your comfort depends on understanding the different kinds of bras out there and when to wear them.
Sports Bra
The key features to look for in a good sports bra are that it completely covers your breasts and is snug. Additionally, you want straps that aren’t stretchy. If you enjoy running, then you’re going to want a sports bra that is rated for high impact, whereas you would only need a low impact one for activities such as walking or yoga.
T-shirt Bra
A t-shirt bra is a smooth-fitted bra. It is usually simple without any lace or extra designs on the cup. This is because they are meant to be worn under fitted clothing where you want a smooth look without anything showing through.
Padded Bra
Padded bras are popular with women with small bra sizes. They give a fuller look to your breasts and can make them look as big as double their actual size, depending on how much padding they have. Additionally, they offer complete nipple coverage and are very comfortable.
Strapless Bra
If you like to wear sleeveless dresses, then a strapless bra will be your best friend. When choosing a strapless bra, it’s important to remember to go down one size because the band is what is holding everything up. This type of bra can be less effective on women with larger breasts.
Stick-On Bra
These are perfect for dresses with unusual necklines or ones that are backless. They are actually silicone pads that stick to your body. They don’t offer as much support as a regular bra, so you want to choose the right times to wear one of these. If you’re going to be somewhere hot or humid, where you might find yourself sweating, you could find yourself having an issue keeping this bra in place.
Longline Bra
These bras look like a cross between a bra and a corset. They are one piece that covers the breasts and usually goes to just above the belly button. These are good under any tight, body-hugging outfit and work for all breast sizes. You just want to ensure that the bra isn’t too tight because it will cause your breasts to pop out of the top, and it won’t look good.
