Making the Most of Smaller Spaces in Your Home

If you have small rooms and areas in your home that are lacking in space, you will want to make the most of them – doing this is about being clever with how you use furniture and design the room – make every bit of space work for you. Even the smallest of rooms can be put to good use – here are some ideas on how to do this…

Firstly, think about the furniture that you choose for your home – for example, a table that can be folded out when needed can also be folded back down so that it doesn’t take up as much space. Sofa beds are also a great way to have extra space for guests when needed without having a large bed taking up an area that isn’t used frequently.

Storage is also an important factor and making sure that everything is well organised and has its place is important when space is at a premium! For example, if you have a bedroom that is an awkward or unusual shape, consider having bespoke fitted wardrobes that are designed to fit the room and make the most of the space rather than freestanding wardrobes.

Layout also plays a big role in how spacious your home feels. Arranging furniture to create clear pathways can make a room feel less cramped and more practical to use. Avoid overfilling the space—leaving some areas open can actually make a room feel larger.

Clearing out clutter on a regular basis also helps your home to stay tidy and ensures that you are only keeping what you need.
