25 Jan Choosing a shirt for the right occasion.
The choice of shirt is a very important part of getting ready for an event. No matter what the occasion you need to make sure that the shirt you choose is correct and fitting for it. There are a few simple rules and guidelines that you can take when deciding what outfit to go for in these circumstances. If you are a bit stuck for things to wear are a trip to EJ Menswear and their range of Tommy Bowe Menswear is ideal as a start point.
The first rule is to consider what the event is going to be. Unless requested, it is traditionally accepted that you will wear a white linen or cotton shirt to say a funeral. However or something like a wedding you may wish to follow the agreed theme of the wedding. This opens up the possibility of pastel colours such as pink and blue or though many prefer a more masculine colour at such events. as a shade black is not necessarily a useful colour to wear to such events as they can be difficult to match with suits and ties.
In all cases of the formal occasion the collar should be worn. These should generally be the appointed Windsor Style or the Eton style of a rounded collar. A good firm solid collor is a great stylish indicator and can give an outfit gravitas.
You can mix things up a bit with a Nehru Collar but these are seen as being more informal in the Western world. This is a cultural thing, as in an Asian wedding, they would be seen as the main formal outfit for a man.
